Thank you for visiting our giving page.
We are a small congregation of Christians who both worship at St James Church and support the community we live in.
Our weekly "New to You" event provides access to purchase cheap clothes and household goods and also, most importantly, provides a meeting place for those seeking company. Loneliness was revealed as a major issue in Welland in a recent household survey. We also partner with the Parish Council, who put on Gigs in the church, providing much needed local entertainment.
St James Church costs around £26,000 per year to keep open, which includes over £11,000 "Parish Share" which we send to Worcester Diocese to help pay for clergy wages and other Diocesan expenses.
Contrary to popular belief, we do not receive any financial support from the Church of England so we have to support ourselves.
In 2019, our church members gave around £14,000, including Gift Aid recovered, so we need a lot of fund raising or extra giving each year.
With the Coronavirus pandemic, our finances have been severely hit and we anticipate a £3000 deficit this year.
All donations to help us are greatly received. Below you will find two ways of giving - making regular donations via the Parish Giving Scheme or making one off donations via "Give A Little".
Thank you for your support.
The Parish Giving Scheme (PGS), run by Gloucester Diocese, allows regular donations to be made to your chosen church.
To support St James Church, please:
You can cancel your donation at any time by calling the PGS on 0333 002 1260 or email them at email@example.com.
Also, you can opt in to an inflationary annual rise to maintain the value of your donation to the church. This will only cost around 30p maximum per £10 donated.
Donations are collected on the first working day of the month and reach our church around the 10th of the month. Gift Aid, if it can be reclaimed, follows just a couple of days later.
